Implementation plan

A 24-month path
to resilience.

A phased proposal where early assessment guides practical implementation, followed by monitoring and improvement.

Listen, assess and plan

Consult residents, identify priority water points and flood risks, and agree on local priorities and responsibilities.

Strengthen water access

Repair selected wells, establish rainwater collection and storage where feasible, and train local maintenance teams.

Prepare for floods

Combine community surveys with available mapping, improve drainage at selected sites, and develop warning and evacuation plans.

Restore livelihoods

Deliver climate-resilient farming training and inputs, create maintenance work where funding permits, and explore alternative income pathways.

Review and improve

Assess water availability, flood preparedness, employment opportunities, livelihood recovery and maintenance costs.

How would progress be assessed?

Proposed measures include water availability, household preparedness, access to employment opportunities, livelihood recovery and the cost of maintaining infrastructure.
